What Is Riftbound: Vendetta?

Riftbound: Vendetta is the fourth set for Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game

The central theme of Vendetta is rivalry.

Riot Games has described the set around clashes between former friends, immortal enemies and members of the same family.

The theme goes much deeper than simply choosing popular League of Legends Champions.

Vendetta is built around conflict.

Rivalries challenge characters.

Enemies force each other to adapt.

Friends can become opponents.

Families can be divided.

Riot specifically highlights relationships such as Shen and Zed and Mel and Ambessa when introducing the theme of Vendetta.

For League of Legends fans, the concept gives the set a strong connection to the wider world of Runeterra.

For Riftbound players, Vendetta introduces new mechanics and, for the first time, new domain combinations.

For collectors, Riot has created an ambitious premium card lineup.

Crystal Rose Alt Arts bring Wild Rift’s returning Crystal Rose skinline into the TCG.

Nine new Legends receive Overnumbered variants.

And 22 Champion Rival Overnumbers explore legendary rivalries from across the League universe.

Vendetta introduces new gameplay systems, new card treatments and a completely new way of presenting premium Champion artwork.

When Does Riftbound Vendetta Release in Australia?

Riftbound: Vendetta releases in English and Chinese on 31 July 2026.

Riot Games has confirmed the following Vendetta schedule:

Preview Season: 6 July to 18 July 2026

Pre-Rift: Begins 24 July 2026

English and Chinese Release: 31 July 2026

French Release: 23 October 2026

For Australian Riftbound players and collectors, the key release date is 31 July 2026

The simultaneous English and Chinese release is an important milestone for Riftbound.

Throughout Vendetta preview season, new cards and information are being revealed ahead of the full release.

This means early deck predictions and discussions around the strongest Vendetta cards may continue to change as more of the set becomes known.

At Northern Beaches Trading Cards, we recommend following official Riftbound and Riot Games announcements when checking new card information during preview season.

TCG preview periods move quickly.

A single newly revealed card can change how players view a mechanic, Champion or potential deck strategy.

Sydney Riftbound players will also have the opportunity to experience Vendetta early at our dedicated Pre-Rift event in Dee Why on Friday 24 July 2026 at 6:15pm

More information about our Vendetta Pre-Rift event can be found later in this guide.

Why Is Riftbound Vendetta Getting So Much Attention?

Vendetta introduces several major additions to Riftbound.

Riot has confirmed that Vendetta booster packs draw from a card pool of more than 160 cards

The set also contains more than 50 Showcase cards

Nine new Legends are represented in the set.

For the first time, Riftbound is introducing new domain combinations.

Three major new mechanics make their debut:

Flow

Burn

Empower

Vendetta introduces a new hybrid Unit type called Unit-Gear

A cycle of spells known as Decrees explores rivalries between opposing Domains.

New tokens also arrive in the set.

Then there is the collector side of Vendetta.

Crystal Rose Alt Arts bring Wild Rift’s Crystal Rose skinline into Riftbound.

The nine new Legends receive Overnumbered variants, which can also be found with artist signatures.

Vendetta then adds 22 Champion Rival Overnumbers

These cards are designed as diptychs, allowing paired cards to create connected pieces of artwork.

For Riftbound players and collectors in Australia, Vendetta has a lot to follow.

Flow: Play Riftbound Cards From Your Trash

Flow is one of the three major mechanics introduced in Riftbound: Vendetta.

Riot Games describes Flow as allowing players to play certain cards from their trash instead of from their hand.

The mechanic was inspired by League of Legends Champions who use Energy.

The idea is to capture the faster recovery and reuse of abilities associated with those Champions.

From a Riftbound gameplay perspective, Flow could change how players think about their trash.

A card entering the trash does not necessarily mean it has completely left your available game plan.

Certain Flow cards can be played from there.

This creates new resource-management decisions.

Players may need to think more carefully about which cards enter the trash and when they may become useful again.

Flow may also create new deck-building possibilities when combined with cards capable of placing additional cards into the trash.

The complete competitive impact of Flow will become clearer after Vendetta releases and players begin testing full decks.

However, the ability to play certain cards from the trash immediately adds a new strategic element to Riftbound.

Players looking to build new Vendetta decks can browse our latest Riftbound singles in Australia online.

Burn: A New Way to Send Cards to the Trash

Burn is another major mechanic arriving in Riftbound: Vendetta.

Riot officially defines Burn as sending cards from a Main Deck to the Trash.

Some Vendetta cards can burn cards from your own deck.

This can help fuel strategies that benefit from cards entering or being available in the trash.

Other cards can target an opponent’s deck directly.

This gives Burn more than one potential purpose.

Players may use Burn as part of their own deck strategy.

Alternatively, Burn effects may be used to attack an opponent’s resources.

The interaction between Burn and the wider Vendetta card pool will be particularly interesting for competitive Riftbound players.

Flow already creates opportunities to play certain cards from the trash.

Burn creates additional ways for cards to reach the trash.

That does not automatically mean every Flow and Burn card belongs in the same deck.

Individual card text, domain requirements and deck construction will determine the strongest strategies.

However, Riot has clearly designed Vendetta with the trash becoming a more active part of Riftbound gameplay.

Empower: Upgrade Cards After They Enter Play

Empower is the third major mechanic introduced in Vendetta.

Cards with Empower have the potential to gain new abilities after they are already in play.

This will often involve paying an additional cost.

Riot describes the mechanic as allowing players to establish a card on the board during one turn and then amplify its Might or effect on a later turn.

That creates another layer of decision-making.

Do you commit resources to Empower a card?

Do you wait?

Can your opponent remove the card before you upgrade it?

Is the additional effect worth the cost at that point in the game?

Vendetta also introduces an Empowered marker token

The marker is used to track cards that have been upgraded through Empower.

For Riftbound players, Empower could create important timing decisions throughout a game.

A card’s threat may change significantly after it has already entered play.

Riftbound Vendetta Introduces Unit-Gear Cards

Vendetta introduces a new Unit type known as Unit-Gear

Riot has confirmed that Unit-Gear cards count as both Units and Gear.

This hybrid identity creates new interaction possibilities.

A card that interacts with Units may recognise a Unit-Gear card as a Unit.

A card that interacts with Gear may also recognise that same card as Gear.

For Riftbound deck builders, hybrid card types can create interesting synergy opportunities.

The full competitive impact of Unit-Gear will depend on the wider Vendetta card pool and its interaction with cards from previous Riftbound sets.

However, adding cards that count as two different card categories gives players another deck-building concept to explore.

What Are Decrees in Riftbound Vendetta?

Vendetta also introduces a cycle of spells known as Decrees

Riot specifically notes that Decrees are not technically a completely new spell type.

Instead, they are a cycle of spells designed around Domain rivalries.

Each Domain has a Decree designed to strike particularly hard against cards of its opposite Domain colour.

This connects directly with Vendetta’s wider rivalry theme.

The conflict between opposing Domains is represented through actual gameplay mechanics.

For competitive Riftbound players, Decrees may become an important consideration when building decks and preparing for particular matchups.

Their overall competitive importance will depend on the Vendetta metagame and which Domain combinations become popular after release.

New Tokens in Riftbound Vendetta

Vendetta introduces new tokens and markers.

Riot has officially shown:

Tentacle

Shadow Clone

Empowered

The Tentacle token is designed to help Bilgewater decks build pressure on the board.

Shadow Clone joins Riftbound as another new token connected to Vendetta.

The Empowered marker is used to track cards upgraded through the new Empower mechanic.

As the Vendetta card pool becomes fully available, players will be able to explore how these new tokens interact with the wider set.

Riftbound Vendetta Crystal Rose Alt Arts

One of the biggest confirmed collector features in Vendetta is the Crystal Rose Alt Art collection

Riot Games has officially confirmed that Crystal Rose Alt Arts celebrate Wild Rift’s returning Crystal Rose skinline by bringing those fan-favourite looks into Riftbound.

Crystal Rose Alt Arts are officially confirmed as part of Riftbound: Vendetta.

Riot has also confirmed that Crystal Rose Alt Arts will appear as often as other Alt Art cards in Vendetta booster packs.

The cards use special numbering.

However, there is an important distinction for Riftbound collectors.

Crystal Rose Special numbered cards are not Overnumbers.

Riot explains that the special numbering celebrates artwork from Wild Rift.

The Overnumber designation is reserved for artwork created specifically by Riftbound.

This is an important detail when discussing Vendetta rarity and collector cards.

A Crystal Rose card may use special numbering and premium alternate artwork.

That does not make it an Overnumber.

For League of Legends and Wild Rift collectors, Crystal Rose cards create another major collecting theme within Vendetta.

Some collectors may chase individual Champions.

Others may attempt to build a complete Crystal Rose collection.

Nine New Legend Overnumbers in Riftbound Vendetta

Vendetta contains nine new Legends.

Riot has officially confirmed that all nine new Legends are represented with Overnumbered variants.

These Overnumbers can also be found with an artist’s signature.

Overnumbers have quickly become some of the most recognisable premium cards in Riftbound.

For collectors, artist-signed versions add another premium variation to chase.

The nine Legend Overnumbers are an important part of the Vendetta collector lineup.

However, they are not the only Overnumbers attracting attention.

Vendetta’s Rival Overnumbers could be one of the biggest collector stories in the set.

Vendetta Rival Overnumbers: 22 Champion Cards Designed as Diptychs

Riot Games has officially confirmed 22 Champion Rival Overnumbers in Riftbound: Vendetta.

These cards represent legendary rivalries from across the League of Legends universe.

The artwork is designed as diptychs

A diptych is a pair of artworks designed to be displayed together.

This means connected Rival Overnumber cards can be collected and displayed as paired pieces of artwork.

For Riftbound collectors, this creates a completely different collecting experience.

Pulling one card may naturally create the desire to find its matching rival.

The connected artwork encourages collectors to complete the pairing.

Riot describes these cards around relationships between friends, family, rivals and enemies.

That makes the Rival Overnumber concept a perfect fit for Vendetta.

The entire set is built around rivalry and conflict.

The premium collector cards directly continue that theme.

For Riftbound collectors in Australia, the 22 Rival Overnumbers are likely to be among the most closely watched cards from Vendetta.

At Northern Beaches Trading Cards, we have already seen strong interest in premium Riftbound artwork, Overnumbers and Showcase cards.

The connected diptych concept gives collectors another reason to chase matching cards.

Crystal Rose Cards vs Overnumbers: What Is the Difference?

Because Vendetta introduces several premium card treatments, it is important to understand the difference between Crystal Rose cards and Overnumbers.

Crystal Rose Alt Arts use artwork connected to Wild Rift’s Crystal Rose skinline.

They use special numbering.

Riot has confirmed they appear as often as other Alt Art cards in Vendetta booster packs.

However, Riot specifically states that Crystal Rose Special numbered cards should not be considered Overnumbers.

Overnumbers use artwork created specifically by Riftbound.

Vendetta includes Overnumbered variants of the nine new Legends.

It also contains 22 Champion Rival Overnumbers.

For collectors, both categories offer premium artwork.

However, they are different card treatments and should not be described as the same rarity.

This distinction is particularly important when buying, selling or discussing Riftbound Vendetta singles in Australia.

What Comes in a Riftbound Vendetta Booster Pack?

Each Riftbound: Vendetta booster pack contains a structured mix of cards.

Riot Games officially lists the Vendetta booster pack distribution as:

  • 7 Common cards
  • 3 Uncommon cards
  • 1 Foil slot that can contain a Common, Uncommon, Rare or Epic card
  • 2 Rare, Epic, Alt, Special Alt or Overnumber cards
  • 1 Token, Rune or Alt Rune slot
  • 1 informational insert

Pack contents are randomised during manufacturing.

Riot also states that any appearance rates represent averages across the full print run.

They are not guarantees for individual booster packs or booster displays.

A particular premium card or treatment should never be considered guaranteed unless Riot specifically confirms it as part of a product’s fixed contents.

Riftbound Vendetta Booster Displays

[INSERT OFFICIAL VENDETTA BOOSTER DISPLAY IMAGE HERE]

Vendetta Booster Displays contain 24 booster packs

Each booster pack contains 14 playable and collectible card slots, plus an informational insert.

The Vendetta card pool contains more than 160 cards and more than 50 Showcase cards.

Riot’s official Vendetta Booster Display artwork features Akali, Ambessa and Mel

For Riftbound players, booster products provide access to the wider Vendetta card pool.

For collectors, major premium card categories include Crystal Rose Alt Arts, Legend Overnumbers and Rival Overnumbers.

As with any randomised TCG booster product, specific cards are not guaranteed unless officially stated.

New Riftbound Vendetta Showdown Decks: Shen vs Zed

[INSERT OFFICIAL SHEN VS ZED SHOWDOWN DECK IMAGE HERE]

Vendetta introduces a new Riftbound product called Showdown Decks

The first Showdown Deck product focuses on Shen vs Zed

Riot officially confirms that the product contains:

Two 56-card preconstructed decks

Two paper playmats

One rulebook

The decks are designed to be ready to play.

For new Riftbound players, this creates an easy way for two people to begin playing together.

For existing players, the decks provide another opportunity to explore new cards and the Shen versus Zed matchup.

The product also fits perfectly with Vendetta’s rivalry theme.

Shen and Zed represent one of the key rivalries Riot highlights when introducing the set.

The Riftbound Vendetta Vault

[INSERT OFFICIAL VENDETTA VAULT IMAGE HERE]

The Vault returns for Riftbound: Vendetta.

Riot officially confirms that the Vendetta Vault includes:

A storage box.

Six Vendetta booster packs.

Riot has confirmed that Vendetta Pre-Rift Kits contain five Vendetta booster packs and a seeded Pre-Rift pack for each of the new Legends in Vendetta
